As time evolved, more and more items were added into the part of the dashboard we now call an instrument cluster. It means that the instrument clusters are the control system behind of a vehicle’s dashboard. The instrument cluster has the main function of being the control central for all of data sources and the output devices. These days, the control system in an instrument cluster has as specific purpose.
In the past, dashboards are much simpler and contained only a speedometer. There is a lot offered in digital or mechanical instrument clusters nowadays, including a speedometer, a navigation system that uses GPS, fuel rates, heating controls, lighting controls, ventilation vents and audio accessories.
